The spokesperson for Cs Xàbia, Enrique Escrivá, has proposed converting the ground floor owned by the Javea Town Hall in Cristo del Mar street in a multipurpose space, available to residents and associations of Duanes.
The premises, whose property was awarded by the City Council in August 2019, is still “empty and does not even have a planned use yet”, since since it came into the hands of the City Council, more than two years ago, it has not been adapted
for any use, nor has anything been invested in the property, nor has any participatory meeting been convened with the neighbors, to count on them when defining the uses that this space could have according to the neighborhood needs of Duanes " Escrivá has reported.
The mayor has proposed that this ground floor be used as a multipurpose space available to residents. On the one hand, as an auxiliary space for citizen service, “in which for a few hours a week it can function as a support point for the Office of Citizen for the residents of Duanes, so that they can carry out procedures, resolve doubts and request information of interest ”.
As Escrivá has pointed out, it is about taking a first step to face one of the historical demands of the residents of the Port, who have been suffering from the absence of physical headquarters of the City Council in Duanes, "which obliges the residents, unless they have a certificate digital, to move to the area of the Town in the communications with its City council ”. Therefore, with this initiative to decentralize the City Council, Escrivá intends "to bring the local Administration closer and more accessible to all residents."
