Cs Xàbia requests a plan of shock against the state of abandonment of the parking of the Constitution

07 December 2022 - 12: 51

The spokesperson for Ciudadanos (Cs) in the Javea Town Hall, Enrique Escrivá, has ruled on the poor condition in which the access facilities of the public municipal parking lot in the Plaza de la Constitución have been, for years, with some of the manholes flooded after each new episode of rain in Xàbia.

Escrivá has conveyed the indignation and discomfort of residents and users of this public car park, who see how "every time it rains, some of the manholes become a veritable water drain." A serious situation, due to the risks involved in the steps and landings being soaked with water from the leaks at the entrance to the car park, to which must be added the problems that the car park is having, with the spaces that are sometimes closed due to water leaks.

elevator breakdown

However, the worst thing is that users have no alternative, since for more than a month the only elevator has been out of order, so "in order to continue using the car park, they have had no choice but to use the access and exit ramps that are exclusively for vehicles, with the danger that this entails; or otherwise, exposing yourself to a waterlogged and slippery floor of one of the pedestrian entrances, even having to open the umbrella inside the parking lot to protect yourself from the amount of water that fell through the leaks during the last days of rain last week ”, as some users of the facilities have reported to the mayor, since some of the users are people with reduced mobility or families with baby carriages, so
moving through another of the accesses is more difficult for them.

Some problems that could be due, according to some technicians, to the leaks of water that accumulates on the roof of the only entrance to the parking lot that has an elevator. A runoff of water that even some residents and users have seen running inside the elevator itself, which could explain the constant breakdowns as well as the fact that until now it is impossible to carry out any repairs.

For all this, Escrivá has made ugly the lack of foresight of the local government when it comes to solving the constant breakdowns of the elevator, which, it seems, has been included in the elevator maintenance contract, but that at this point, this service has not yet been definitively awarded. However, nothing has been done with the chips in the wall, nor have the problems of the leaks been corrected, with the danger of slipping and falling that they entail. A state of abandonment of the facilities, which has been repeated for years, "and despite all this, we still have not seen the report that the Councilor for Services said would be made regarding the deficiencies and damage to the City Hall's underground car parks" .

crash plan

For what Escrivá, has urged the local government to implement a crash plan against the lack of conservation of the public parking facilities of the City Council, so that they look their best, "above all
because many times, it is one of the first contacts that many tourists have” who come to enjoy the wide offer of our Historic Center. "While merchants are asked to make efforts to make offers and promotional campaigns presenting their businesses in their best clothes, meanwhile, the
public parking facilities that belong to the City Council are still sad ”, the mayor concluded.

  1. Luis says:

Is the crash plan what they do in other places and what they call maintenance?
How can they be proud of having such a beautiful town when they neither care nor respect it? On what delusion of grandeur do they base that pride?

  2. Miquel says:

A round of applause for the new Genoa bridge and the purchase of the premises in the historic center, but the Parking that is falling apart?
    Or the floods?
And many other more important things, what about them?
When there is no planning and they don't know how to govern the town in a state of abandonment and explosion.

  3. Bianca Jagger says:

    Everything falls apart in Jávea.
Thanks to so many politicians for their work, and there is little left for total destruction.
