Cs Xàbia requests that the Arenal Medical Office provide service throughout the year

27 September 2022 - 12: 02

The spokesperson for Cs Xàbia, Enrique Escrivá, has registered a motion by way of urgency to be debated in the next ordinary plenary session in September, demanding that the Town hall to request, both the Department of Universal Health and Public Health and the management of the Department of Health of Dénia, to extend the season in which the Arenal Auxiliary Medical Clinic provides services.

According to Escrivá, the service that the Medical Office has been providing during the summer season, and even the tiny extensions of the time that this medical point has provided service, as it has been this year with the Easter season, confirm that the start-up March of the Office «only responds to the tourist influx that Xàbia experiences during the high season, ignoring the reality and health needs of around 3.000 residents of Arenal, and nearby urbanizations that live 365 days a year, in addition to the floating population that resides in Xàbia».

For this reason, Escrivá has advocated progressively expanding "the scant 90 days a year that the Office is currently open", increasing the days until it provides service throughout the year, depending on the basic needs of the population, "always providing this medical point with its own necessary staff, that is, that in no case means reducing staff in the rest of the Health Centers of the municipality".

The mayor has continued by pointing out that, "beyond the figures from the Ministry or the concessionaire on healthcare pressure and the number of patients treated, it is about continuing to fight to facilitate and bring closer access to public health for all neighbors, without that objective depending solely on the tourist pressure that the municipality receives ». In addition, Escrivá has pointed out that “if the Arenal Medical Office were to open throughout the year, it would contribute to revitalizing the environment of Jávea Park, increasing the flow of people through the businesses in the area, pending the effect of other announced interventions. and that do not arrive like, for example, the expected calisthenics park ».

On the other hand, the xabiero spokesman has transferred the need and the "historical demand" shared by many xabieros, when it comes to having a Radiology unit in one of the Xàbia Health Centers. A service that, as he explained, "would prevent patients in the municipality from necessarily having to go to the Dénia Hospital in La Xara or to the Calpe Health Center, which does have this X-ray service."

Finally, Escrivá has concluded by pointing out that «it is a unit that, with Xàbia having a registered population of 27.983 inhabitants, is a basic health service for which we must continue fighting until it is launched as soon as possible, above all because it would contribute to reduce the long waiting lists that users must endure when they need a basic diagnostic test in Primary Care, such as an X-ray".

And explanations for the theft of our Cala del Pope do not ask? And the silent environmentalists? Why is it that no one says anything? You have taken it warm, thanks for fucking almost 28.000 people

What they should ask is that they remove that garbage container from the middle of the children's play area, fixing it up so that it has a good space to play and practice sports and build a Health Center as was done in the port to attend to the residents of Arenal and the urbanizations. There's a plot of land in front of the Karting entrance and the council has millions in the bank which they recently bragged about, so you know where to start. What you are asking for is disgraceful.
