The Red Cross of Jávea and the Oceanogràfic Foundation have been, during the morning of Saturday, carrying out an awareness campaign on the risks of sun and heat and on the stranding of animals.

On the one hand, under the motto This Summer I Love You A Lot, Red Cross has been giving advice to bathers on the best habits for the summer and how to fight the sun and heat: Advice, protect yourself with sun creams and moisturize. In addition, members of this group tested the tension to those who requested it and offered fruit.

At the same time, the Oceanogràfic Foundation also carried out an awareness campaign for the care of beached animals on the beaches. The coordinator, Susana Ortiz, indicated the previous formation that the volunteers of Red Cross had received in the Oceanogràfic "and veterinarians have taught them the primary care they would have to give animals."

The activity carried out today was to teach the bathers how they can collaborate with the rescue of these animals. First of all, to give part to Red Cross so that it transmits to the network of strandings of the Valencian Community.

From the Foundation explain that this initiative is done to involve citizens in this work "Recovery of animals that have had a problem, although it may not seem like sea turtles and dolphins live very close to the coast".

In recent years, according to the Oceanogràfic Foundation, "There are more animals stranded because the sea is more contaminated by human causes."
