Costas will shortly repair the sinkhole of Cala Moraig caused by the storm 'Gloria'

El Town hall from El Poble Nou de Benitatxell is already working with Costas to repair the damage from the storm 'Gloria' in Cala Moraig. The mayor, Miguel Ángel García, has received the technicians from the Provincial Coastal Service, who have evaluated the damage caused by storm Gloria.

The technicians have examined the sinkhole caused by the maritime storm in the car park and access to the cove, as well as the whole area in general to begin to draw up a project as a matter of urgency. City and Coastal technicians have been working together for several weeks to speed up the process and implement the best solutions.

The works, of the largest in the province of Alicante, as pointed out by the person in charge of the project, contemplate the repair of the damages as well as the adaptation of the cove in line with the natural environment. The works are expected to begin as soon as possible in order to have the beach ready for the tourist season.

The visit was attended by the Councilor for Infrastructure, Jorge Pascual, the Councilor for Urbanizations, Mayte Roldán, the mayor of Public Safety, María José Ivars, as well as technicians from the town hall and the head of the
Local police.

The first mayor poblero has indicated that "the performance is not easy, but when the works are finished, Cala Moraig will look as beautiful as ever or even more, if possible, with the improvements that are going to be implemented. We do not want to rely solely on repairing the damage, but on reorganizing and naturalize the space so that there is a harmony between the beach and the natural environment. "
