The Ministry of Agriculture and Ecological Transition has responded to the request of the Javea Town Hall sending a forestry brigade that will take care of the maintenance of several important natural areas in the locality.
The work to be carried out will focus on improving the points of greatest environmental and landscape value, such as the viewpoints of l'illa, de the falzia, the Cap Negre, Cap de la Nau, Les Pesqueres and Torre Ambolo, all of them included between Cap Prim and Torre de Ambolo and protected within the SCI Penya-segats de la Marina.
The replacement of protective embankments, tree pruning and silvicultural treatments will be carried out to improve the structure of the vegetation and eliminate invasive species. In addition, specific actions will be taken to regulate the trails with rope fencing and safety will be improved with new sections of fence in areas with danger of falling.
Another of the actions requested is the placement of a fence around an avenc in a municipal area of the Costa Nova area. This cavity, which is hidden among the vegetation, has some parts with vertical walls that can pose a danger of falling because a path that crosses the green area passes nearby. At this point, forestry improvement and pruning works will also be carried out, as well as an exploration of the cavity by technicians to prospect for possible fauna or flora of interest within the cavity.
Xàbia Town Hall has also requested improvements on the path to the Castell Granadella or in viewpoints of Natural Park Montgó. This collaboration will increase the security of all citizens who visit these points of interest.
