Police statement: "Crime takes over the population of Xàbia"

May 10 from 2022 - 18: 13

The Jávea/Xàbia Local Police staff, with the support of the SPPLB, SIPOL, STAS and SEP unions, report that:

Criminal cases in the population of Xabia have increased alarmingly for a few weeks: In fact, only during the first week of May, in addition to the most common cases of drug seizures and crimes against road safety, there has been an increase in cases of intrusion into homes with the aim of perpetrating robberies.

In addition, we must add several brawls with the use of knives (especially in the Arenal leisure area), as well as traffic accidents.

The weekend was especially serious, since the local police had to act in two brawls in which the aggressors brandished knives. Likewise, there was a traffic accident in which a vehicle, after colliding with urban furniture, circulated through several streets of the town with serious damage until it finally stopped when it collided again.

The most violent day was Sunday, as there were several attacks on public roads and in broad daylight (in one of them, the occupants of a vehicle beat up a pedestrian). But the most dangerous events occurred in the afternoon in the Plaza de la Constitución, when before the astonished sight of the families present there, some 20 people appeared armed with stones, screwdrivers, awls and a large machete, starting another brawl that He left with two minor injuries and one seriously injured by a knife.

From the local police of Xàbia it is reported that they do everything in their power, but with the current labor situation within the institution, the march of troops to other municipalities in which it is valued has become a custom their professionalism, assuming this situation a reduction of the police presence in the streets.

Also, a clear example of this is that recently three police officers have left the workforce and several more are pending to leave.

For all of the above, the current scenario faced by the Local Police highlights an alarming increase in insecurity that residents therefore suffer, insecurity that is more than evident in the acts that occurred during the past weekend.

  1. Carlos says:

The local police ask a lot for what they do that if the friends and plugged in neither fines nor ostia, to scare them so that they raise their salary they put out a report on how dangerous Jávea is, Machos and Machas from the local police inform them that That is their job or maybe if they get paid a little more they will work more carefully hahahaha this is a joke and blackmail.

And also the Civil Guard without patrols.

    • Juan says:

The local police of Jávea have been working for years in harsh conditions, seeing how other colleagues from nearby municipalities, and less conflictive ones, charge much more. I can assure you that they have tried everything possible, and endured the unimaginable, to solve their problem, of simple salary equality, through dialogue and negotiation. They have hit a wall. Although with the new leadership of Mr. Montfort it seems that they have come out of the stone age where the previous leadership had them mired, their employment situation is unsustainable. The patience of the agents is reaching its limit. I invite you to go one step further and demonstrate physically before the population with whistles and banners. The only way, as seen, is not to lower your hands and push until you get what is fair

      Stimmt.vermisse ich auch

  3. Laura is gone says:

    I can only say:

Long live Chulvi and his Political Project!!

There is nothing like a prepared person at the head of a Municipality.

Bravo for him and for the councilors who are so prepared to help him, hey, hey, and hey!

(We take a guy from a bar and make him Mayor, what can go wrong?)

Greetings to all the voters who make this magnificent Project possible, thank you.

  4. Vecino says:

It seems to be the same problem as the lack of waiters.
There are no waiters or police or anything, that's why people leave Jávea because there are no opportunities here and if there are they are poorly paid.
The data does not lie before in Jávea there were more than 30 thousand and now we are about 27 thousand.
Then it is said that the Psoe is the party of the good progress of the retrogression rather.

    • July says:

The police as a body cannot issue this type of statement; a union yes. It is a bit miserable to scare people to put pressure on the council

      • Ignacio says:

What if it's the other way around? Does the council encourage certain situations to scare people? To promote the abandonment and subsequent revaluation of the area?

    • Luis says:

People leave but tourists come in droves.
