The plenary of Xàbia had yesterday the presentation of a motion by Compromís Xàbia in which it required an investment and political impulse for the province of Alicante, in which it was provided with infrastructure and also requested a reform of the Rule of expenditure and Contract Law.

The motion, which had the unanimous support of the municipal corporation, is the so-called Letter d'Alacant, a municipal declaration promoted by Compromís at the provincial level and that the local formation of Xàbia presented at the last plenary.

The proposal asks the Central Government to improve the financing of the local administration with criteria of fiscal responsibility, a modification of the Expenditure Rule applicable to local administrations with a continuous surplus, an authorization for local administrations of a greater margin in the occupation calls publishes with objective criteria and compliance with the forecasts of the Commuter Plan to the province of Alicante to guarantee sustainable public transport, addressing as a priority investments in the Costa Gandia Train-Denia-Benidorm-Alacant.

In addition, the motion mentions both the fair distribution of money from the Provincial Council and the improvement
of the financing of the Valencian Community.

In this sense, the Valencian spokesman, Juan Cardona, thanked the support of the other municipal groups, and declared that "We need to join forces for something that affects us both government and opposition, on a day-to-day basis, and that has the local administration tied up".

Finally, Cardona has remarked that “Xàbia, like the Navy, is a victim of the lack of connections, both with Valencia and with Alicante. Therefore, the implementation of the Coast Train must be a priority for the future central government ”.
