The spokesperson for Ciudadanos Xàbia, Enrique Escrivá, has demanded that the municipal government convene the Council for Economic Promotion and Tourism, “a key body for Town hall and the business sector of the municipality go hand in hand”.
According to Escrivá, "It must be established as soon as possible, since participation, active listening and decision-making jointly between political decision-makers, involved economic agents, tourism technicians and civil society, about the tourist offer, services and economic revitalization of Xàbia is today more necessary never".
The orange spokesman has picked up the glove that he threw in the ordinary plenary session last May, in which the Councilor for Tourism, Tony Miragall, he assured that this body was not constituted; and for this reason, Escrivá opted for the local government to initiate the procedures to start it up as soon as possible.
The mayor recalled that, unlike the Council for Economic Promotion and Tourism, others such as the Council of Agriculture or the Council of Culture, have been established and several meetings have already been held, exposing, in the case of
the latter, the cultural programming and the main lines to be developed during the year, convening its meetings every three months.
The councilor from xabiero has pointed out that according to the statutes of the Consell of Economic Promotion and Tourism, this body "It will be in charge of marking the general strategic lines and criteria for action, debate and agree on the programming of the campaigns, as well as the annual action in the field of economic and tourist promotion".
So Escrivá has highlighted that "Now more than ever, it is necessary to know what the strategic axes and action criteria are going to be in the short, medium and long term of one of the most important departments of Xàbia, such as Tourism and Commerce, involving all the parties involved ”.
For what the mayor has added that he could join this Advisory Council, the work table that he proposed together with merchants and entrepreneurs, who “Since it met for the first time it has never been celebrated again”.
