One more year, wine is the protagonist in the Great Riurau de Jesús Pobre. The 2 and 3 days of June will celebrate the third edition of the International show of Vins Singulars i de Poble organized by the association that bears the same name and presided over by Mara Bañó.
The show bets for the originality of the wines that tell a story, that defend values and that are a hallmark of a territory. For this, 33 will gather wineries from all over the world with some of the most prestigious wines for being small and unrepeatable. Specifically, five wineries from the Marina Alta, 14 from the Valencian Community, 12 Spanish wineries and three international wineries from Austria, Germany and Portugal will participate.
The president of the association and organizer of the festival, Mara Bañó, recalled the operation of this event, similar to previous years. On Sunday, the show will open its doors to the 17: 00 hours in the Riurau de Jesús Pobre for all audiences. Attendees can buy a ticket 8 euros that can be exchanged for a glass and three tastings.
Activities in the show
This year, the show includes two activities to publicize the phylloxera problem, the insect that ends with the vineyards and that appeared for the first time in our region in 1910. To this end, a talk will be given by the biologist Jaume Soler and the writer of Xàbia Toni Espinós. It will be at the 19: 00 hours at the Social Center of Jesús Pobre. One hour later, at the 20: 00 hours, the children of the Pare Pere school will make a parade through the streets of the village dressed in phylloxera. All of them will perform a performance in which they will "intoxicate" a vine to the rhythm of the Colla de Dolçaina i Tabal of El Verger.
On Monday, the day is aimed at hospitality and catering professionals, who from 10: 00 to 14: 00 hours will share knowledge and opinions about the most unique wines.
The presentation of the Mostra has been made in the riurau, and has counted with the participation of the mayors of Jesús Pobre and Dénia, Javier Scotto and Vicent Grimalt; the president of Aehtma, Cristina Sellés, and the owners of the restaurant Tula de Xàbia, Clara Puig and Borja Susilla. All of them have agreed to congratulate the organization for this show, already consolidated, which puts our territory in value and differentiates us from the rest of the tourist destinations.
