El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, met yesterday, via telematics, with the representatives of the Merchants Associations of the Historic Center, Port and Arenal, as well as the hoteliers of ARX. In this meeting also participated the councilors of Economic Development, Marta Bañuls, and the Treasury, Ximo Segarra.
At the meeting, the municipal representatives have advanced to the groups the lines of aid that they are articulating, and that will be specified in the coming days as soon as the margin of maneuver that the Government allows to allocate municipal funds is clear.
Chulvi has made it clear that the Javea Town Hall It has enough financial cushion to be able to give a good response to the small companies and workers of the population after this crisis and that it is already looking for the formulas to be able to channel aid within the difficult regulations that govern local farms, regardless of whether you can use the surplus or not.
To channel this aid plan, the local executive has ensured that all facilities will be given to those interested, with attention to companies via telephone and - once face-to-face is recovered - decentralizing resources and providing service in the three urban centers.
The mayor has detailed the first support measures taken by the Administration, such as the paralysis of water bills and the suspension of deadlines for all taxes (circulation, garbage and occupation of public roads). This last rate, in addition, is studying the way to return it to those who had paid it.
With this meeting, the City Council of Xàbia has been able to hear first-hand the feelings of the municipality's commercial fabric regarding this unprecedented situation that is being experienced and attend to all the queries that merchants ask themselves.
