Casa Pichi has been serving 56 for years, serving its customers and offering its own meat products. Its long and good trajectory has been recognized by the guild of Butchers and Charcuteros of Valencia and Province (Grecarval).
The Association, non-profit, which this year meets 40 years and consists of 260 butchers-butchers, wanted to recognize the work and dedication that the members devote to their business day by day. For this, they delivered several trophies to various butchers in three modes: more than 20 years of experience, more than 40 and more than 100, being one of the honorees, that of Xàbia, Casa Pichi.
The history of Casa Pichi
This carnage was born in Xàbia in the 60 decade. Vicente Pedrós -family with cattle tradition- and Rosita Fornés, a couple of newlyweds, begin to elaborate home-made homemade products with the help of Teresa, the sister of Vicente, who knows the formula of Casa de Marqués .
Their formula is successful, and at 1963 they decide to start a small business at home, with a rudimentary wooden board in which they exhibit their sausages. Little by little, the business expands and grows. In the 80 years they undertake a major renovation in the premises adjacent to the old family house, and they become the first butcher shop in Xàbia to obtain the approval of the European Union for the production of sausages.
But after years of running the business, at the end of the 90 years, Vicente and Rosita gave way to a second generation to retire. Two of his three children, Pepe and Mari, are the ones who now run the business, recognized with the distinctive four stars of Excellent Trade of the Generalitat Valenciana. This last year Casa Pichi has undergone a great change after a comprehensive reform. With a new air but with the same philosophy as their parents, they still offer, in addition to meat products, those sausages of yesteryear, with the same formula.
