Streets of Xàbia dress up for San Juan despite not celebrating the holidays

22 June 2020 - 12: 46

One of the Xàbia festive traditions is to decorate its streets. Colorful, imagination, creativity and crafts fill the town's historic center every year with Les Fogueres de Sant Joan and the streets of Duanes for their patron saint festivities in honor of the Virgin of Loreto.

This year, the coronavirus pandemic has forced to suspend all parties for health prevention. People's health is the most important thing at the moment, but as always, traditions and customs must try not to get lost. Thus, and with the neighborhood union that has increased in these months of confinement, several streets of Xàbia have been adorned by San Juan.

Andrés Lambert Street in Duanes de la Mar, San Cristóbal Street and Mare de Déu del Pópul Street have been decorated by their neighbors. The rockets, the shirts of rocks and the color were not lacking in this small tribute.
