Cala Blanca to the top despite the exceptional nature of this summer

August 14 from 2020 - 00: 40

We thought it would be a lazy summer, but the roads show that, despite the circumstances, Xàbia has been filled with visitors.

The roads are full and, the closer you get to the sea, the more you notice the large influx of vehicles. Yesterday, two days after the end of the first half of August, these images were taken where you can see Cala Blanca to the top of people, boats and cars.

The overcrowding of cars in the area, together with the poor parking of many vehicles in the middle of the road, causes long delays every morning. An image reminiscent of those supposed best summers earlier. Although it may not be the best that Xàbia could give.

Municipal corporations have a special responsibility when addressing the change in mobility models, allowing citizens to adapt to the new urban model towards which they want to advance; cities to be walked.
The degree of preponderance of the motor in a town or city is inversely proportional to its level of development and urbanity.
It is unfortunate to see how towns whose only probable future is a certain quality tourism frighten it with the accumulation of utility vehicles and motorhomes: the towns were not designed for such a machine, in which one person usually travels. There are municipalities that have seen it clearly, and their managers one day endured the pull of a temporary social rejection. They made their neighbors see that you can park five hundred meters from your door, in designated areas.
We wish for this year, Mr. Mayor, that Xàbia finally joins the increasingly numerous group of cities that have ended up fed up with tyranny, let's call it that, that cars have imposed, and we can see more people and bicycles on our streets with total normality.
It is still a contradiction, that in the survey carried out by the City Council to the residents of Xàbia on which streets should pedestrianize, the Montañar will win by a large majority.
Dual traffic condemns pedestrians to continue living with the tyranny of the car. You have to do just the opposite, leave a service lane and access to residents and completely pedestrianize what should have been a walk by the sea for decades.
"It is time to decide whether in cities we give priority to cars or people"

Luckily, how lucky you are, to be young and to be able to move around on foot or by bicycle. I recommend that you also think about older people, or those who, even if they are young, have mobility problems. From time to time it is convenient to think about others.

I have been coming to Javea for forty years and twenty ago I bought a house.
I think this will be the last year that I get close to August, it is a hell of a town, soon worse than Benidorm ... a jungle.

    • Lucia says:

      Totally agree.
If this continues, we will seek to sell our apartment as soon as the prices recover. This is a shame and we see no way out. Too bad, but surely we find something more careful and calm.

  3. July says:

This massification model is exhausted ... dying of success

It only remains to look for other quieter towns, this one has been loaded

  4. Scaramanga says:

Add the zebra crossings completely erased at the end of Via Augusta and its surroundings after years without painting ... Then we will throw our hands at our heads like a couple of years ago with the lady run over and died on the road from Duanes to the town ...

  5. I emerge says:

I corroborate everything said by Guillem and Monolo. The police thing is not wasted. Besides not seeing him, when he is seen, it is by car, of course they do not get off, but they also see people crowded together, without a mask, etc, and they do not flinch.
Dirt is expandable to the rest of the population and neglect is total. The councilors are missing, like the mayor, but the opposition is also missing… Is it that nobody claims anything ??? Is everything okay like this ???

The photos are already fewer, today one in which the mayor, the president of the Generalitat plus 2 ministers were there. As it will have given them revenge that we all see that they were "without a mask" then they will have had it removed. Is it that the media are also bought?
To those of the opposition .. TO SEE IF YOU WAKE UP,

  6. Guillem says:

Mr. Mayor, now is when you have to assert your authority, which is what you are there for and you get paid.
The local police are under his command. Totally missing. No control of the incisors without a mask in the mountains, sandy areas and any other area.
City without law? So what do we want rulers and police for? When they are needed in times of pandemic they do not appear.
Reverse this situation or a group of neighbors will file a complaint against you.

    • Trading says:

And so we have the tourism we have, every year worse

    • Isa gomez says:

What Guillem says, that he charges for that. Let's see, nowadays being mayor of Jávea is a profession and well paid. It is also a political catapult that is valid for climbing positions in the Valencian Community and even at the national level. So Mr. Chulvi, at least assert your authority and that the local police act against people who break the law, masks, social distance, crowding on beaches (the cove is also Jávea beach, not only are the barraca and the granadella to limit people). Anyway, thank goodness that the summer season is over and with it the problems will end on their own because if it depended on our politicians we would have it clear.
By the way I know. Chulvi, magnificent photo without a mask or safety distances, a magnificent example for citizens, oh and the best of the nonsense of excuse that he says. Go now.

  7. monolo says:

Please do not forget to throw your cigarette butts on the ground, between the rocks and into the sea, to see if we can make the vision of Nature completely disappear.

You already know, butts, papers and bags of potatoes on the ground, on the beach and in the water.

And please, that the Local Police do not even think about getting out of the car to patrol on foot, that never, in the car with the air always, so we let the anarchy of the non-believers invade us completely.

Mayor, how's your summer going? any more photos soon inaugurating something?

    Come on, greetings to all.

    • Antonio says:

I live next door and I corroborate everything you say, when we complained to the city council about the dirt in La Caleta, they said that it is a wild beach.
Although I think that the town hall is wild and those who are inside it are above all.

      • Bea says:

Shame on rulers, opposition and others. Politiquillos from three to four come to more and due to overcrowding and lack of control you are going to load my dear Jávea. Unpresentable situations, oh and what they say ... There are no police in this town? What a shame.
