After a meeting held last August in Jesús Pobre between women's groups of the Marina Alta and a representation of the Feminist Platform of Alicante, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has decided to join, together with other towns in the region, the state call for the Feminist Emergency Declaration of the next September 20.
The demonstration, organized by the women's group of the Housewives Association with the support of the Department of Equality, Gender Policies and Diversity, led by Víctor Bisquert, will begin on La Pau street at 22:00 p.m. continue to the plaza Town hall, where a manifesto will be read.
Dozens of people committed to the cause are expected to go outside at a nighttime rally to ask to stop killing women. To do this, participants are recommended to carry their cell phone or any flashlight element to fill the square with violet light.
And it is that during the month of July, every two days a woman was killed in Spain. That is why, as the Feminist Platform of Alicante includes in its statement, it is no longer a simple alert, but a feminist emergency.
