Benitatxell wants to be a more attractive town valuing its heritage, sustainability and its history

A committee of wise advises the Poble Nou de Benitatxell in the drafting and implementation of a Strategic Tourism Plan that marks the hospitality, excellence, sustainable development and enhancement of heritage and local history as starting points to make a municipality more attractive.

These conclusions are drawn from the work of the government team that has already initiated a round of meetings with experts and intellectuals to begin defining a strategic tourism plan for the municipality. The mayor, Miguel Ángel García, has indicated that “It's time to start drawing the town we want in the medium and long term. It is important to have a leading team advised by a committee of enthusiastic and visionary intellectuals, an exciting project and spread the passion of that dream to our neighbors. It is time to sow the new seeds of the future of Poble Nou de Benitatxell ”.

Among the experts are Ricardo Devesa, from the Advanced Architecture Institute of Catalonia, Maite Subirats, director of the company PgTurística, specialized in the management of plans for tourism dynamics and comxicotetiveness and Francesc Mascarell, a philosopher and with an extensive professional curriculum in charge of the 21 Agenda or the
Ethical Council of Balearia.

Ideas in the area of ​​culture are also contributed by pope professors and historians Pepe Cano, Gabriel Gilabert, Miquel Almenara, the Municipal Culture Technician, Quico Llobell and others linked to culture such as journalist and writer Empar Ferrer, or Professor Pepita García .

The Councilor for Tourism, Víctor Bisquert, has clarified that you want "a more sustainable and respectful tourism. Make the Poble Nou of Benitatxell an attractive town not only for its offer of sun and beach tourism, but also for being a charming town with interesting claims linked to healthy tourism and a wide cultural offer ”.

Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda

On the other hand, the Town hall del Poble Nou de Benitatxell is fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda. It is committed to taking measures from the local level in the face of the climate emergency situation that the planet is experiencing. The current local government is going to work on improving recycling, promoting alternative energies, promoting pedestrian itineraries and preserving the landscape and the environment. In the fight against climate change and the protection of the planet, all efforts are few.

Recall that the mayor of Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miguel Ángel García, and the Councilor for Tourism, Victor Bisquert, attended the presentation in Xàbia of the guide 100 recommendations for the application of the SDGs in the tourist destinations of the Valencian Community edited by the Valencian Tourism Agency.

The event was attended by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer; the Department of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, Carolina Pascual, and the
President of the Corts, Enric Morera, among others.
