Benitatxell proposes to 'act' against sexist violence and femicide in his 25-N programming

On the occasion of November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Department of Equality and Gender Policies of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, led by Víctor Bisquert, has prepared a program of activities and awareness-raising actions that will be held from November 10 to 28.

The programming will revolve around the campaign 'The solution also passes through you. Take action!', which will begin on Wednesday, November 18. This campaign aims to convey the message that the solution passes through everyone and that we must act and not remain silent in situations of sexist violence, whether physical, verbal, harassment, etc.

Activity program

The cultural center will host, 11 31 to the November, 'The purple suitcase', which includes various feminist books.

The events continue the Saturday 21, at 10:30 am at the Social Center, with the 'Breakfast between books and women ', a marathon of reading texts written by women with the aim of promoting equality in the world of writing. This year the writer Lydia Monreal will host the book 'Elvira's secret'. The money from the sale of books will be in full for the Matria association. The official act and the reading of the manifesto condemning sexist violence will be the Wednesday November 25 at 18:30 p.m. in the Plaza del Mercat. It will follow, 26 28 days and, the self defense workshop for women 'Karate Juts'. Thursday's, which will take place at 18:00 p.m. in the ballet classroom of the School of Music, will be aimed at people over 18 years of age, while Saturday's, at 11:00 a.m. in the same location, will be for young people between 14 and 18 years old. Registrations can be made through joventut@elpoblenoudebenitatxell.org. There is a maximum of 10 places per session.

Finally, the program will come to an end with an event dedicated to the little ones. The Library will host the Saturday 28 at 11:30 the storyteller 'Pipi Calzesllargues'. Registration at library@elpoblenoudebenitatxell.org.

“Despite the exceptional situation in which we find ourselves, we have prepared a very participatory program to reach as many people as possible. Because the fight against sexist violence is everyone's business, and it is important that we are aware from a very young age ", said the councilor of the area, Víctor Bisquert, who recalled that in most events there will be reduced capacity and mandatory prior registration to comply with the relevant security measures.
