The new team of the Poble Nou de Benitatxell wants to involve the whole municipality in an ambitious plan of landscape and urban regeneration that will revolutionize from the respect to the tradition the urban aesthetics. The councilors have already defined together with the technicians a first report but they want to know the opinion of the citizens.
The first public participation workshop will be next Saturday 16 in February at the 10: 15 hours at Espai Molí, Carrer de les Escoles. As in the whole project, photo montages and recreations will be made so that the neighbors can contribute suggestions and ideas. The second workshop will be held at 2 in March at 11: 00 hours, also at Espai Molí. The future scenarios will be discussed.
The participatory process is fundamental to the success of such an ambitious plan. The project pursues a very clear objective: to achieve that El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has a harmonious and identifiable urban aesthetic, that reconciles the tradition and avant-garde artistic proposals and that stands out for the luminosity and the Mediterranean character " the mayor, Miguel Ángel García, has stood out.
The project also includes urbanizations. It will also improve its aesthetics and furniture will be renovated to be the same as in the urban core. The landscape plan aims that all the neighbors, both those in the urban area and those in the urbanizations, feel identified with their people and proud to live in it.
Beautifying a town has a very positive effect on the self-esteem of the neighbors. Another action already defined is to improve the aesthetics of the entrances to the municipality, spaces that now lack all attractiveness. At the entrances, the tradition will be reconciled (the visitor must identify at the first glance that is in a Mediterranean village, bright and charming) and innovation. Artistic interventions in these strategic places convey the innovative and creative nature of Benitatxell's Poble Nou.
