The young people of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell can enjoy a wide day of leisure this coming weekend. The Department of Youth, in charge of Victor Bisquert, has scheduled the I Gamer Weekend, two intense days dedicated to leisure in which the youth of the town can play and socialize at the same time in a safe and community space.
The event, which already has a large number of registrants, will take place at the Santa María Magdalena school, where a room with consoles, video games, seats and all kinds of amenities will be enabled. The opening of doors will be Friday 4 of October at 17: 00 hours and, in the case of both days, they will be extended until 23: 00 hours.
For the occasion several championships have been prepared with prizes for the winners. In addition to the leisure part, there will also be time to address issues and youth issues such as cyberbullying or the management of study and leisure time.
The objective of this initiative is to provide leisure alternatives for youth and encourage them to play in community to avoid social isolation. “It is important that youth be involved in the life of the people and not be isolated at home. Friendships are an important part of a person's vital relationships, and
we think that the Gamer Weekend is a good opportunity to meet new people and have fun ”, said the Councilor for Youth, Victor Bisquert.
