The extraordinary plenary session Town hall of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell held, this past Monday, has approved, with the six votes in favor of the government team (Més Benitatxell and IMA) and the three against the municipal group RED CV, the general budgets “Most social in the history of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell”, as highlighted by the mayor, Miguel Ángel García.
With a total item of 5.835.818 euros, the 2.672.055,30 euros allocated to personnel expenses have been maintained. In this sense, the mayor has indicated his commitment to the promotion of employment in the municipality with a Plan for the Promotion of Temporary Occupation. Thus, the good figures of this 2019 will be matched, with a total of 39 people temporarily hired, 13 of them through grants. All of this, he highlighted, with the corresponding procedures and tenders that he lacked a few years ago.
In addition, the consistory wanted to give the most important boost to the area of Servicios Sociales with a substantial endowment to end the waiting list of the Home Help Service (SAD), one of the most sensitive services in the town given the large number of inhabitants over 65 years of age. “When an elderly or dependent person asks for help, they cannot be placed on the waiting list. Your attention must be imminent ”, said the Councilor for Social and Senior Services, Isa Garrido.
Also, for the first time in history, budget items have been provided to the areas of Equality (18.000 euros) and Youth Policies (7.000 euros), two very important branches in these "Social budgets."
Investments in the municipality
Other outstanding investments are those destined to the renovation of public parks and the cemetery where the old part will be reformed, the improvements in the water and air quality system of the Municipal Pool, the installation of surveillance cameras for greater security in urbanizations, the acquisition of a community composter or the management of sports facilities to improve financial sustainability.
Garcia has stated that he wants "Be next to the citizen with the promotion of employment". The mayor has pointed out the "hard work" for six months, since his re-election, to get the budgets on time. And it is that the fact of having approved them this December is an important milestone for the municipality, since they had not presented themselves within the appropriate period for more than a decade.
Miguel Ángel García has indicated that “For years the budgets did not go through the plenary before the start of the year. Now, these new 2020 will allow us to work better from day one. ”
