Baleària will resume the connections from Dénia to the Balearic Islands from Monday May 25

May 18 from 2020 - 10: 12

Baleària From Monday 25 May it will resume high-speed connections to the Balearic Islands from Dénia, as well as inter-island routes (Alcúdia-Ciutadella, Ibiza-Palma). The shipping company has anticipated its new schedule, which will coincide with the foreseeable phase change and will thus add three other ships to the 12 it currently operates.

"We are committed to recovering and contributing to this new normal that our economy so badly needs" has indicated the president of the shipping company, Adolfo Utor. Baleària's priority is to guarantee maximum safety on all its ships, which is why it has implemented safety protocols, such as taking the temperature prior to boarding and guaranteeing safety distances, as well as increasing disinfection and cleaning of all spaces.

The three ships that the shipping company reincorporated on Monday May 25 to its operations are the Cecilia Payne (Palma-Ibiza-Dénia), the Ramon Llull (Dénia-Formentera-Ibiza) and the Jaume III (Alcúdia-Ciutadella), which can transport both passengers and their vehicles.

Dénia

With this new time schedule, the shipping company resumes operations from the port of Dénia. Thus, 3 days a week will directly connect Dénia with Formentera, while connections with Ibiza will be 7 days a week (4 direct and the rest via Formentera) and with Palma there will also be four services a week. These routes will be added to the connections with ferries, which transport goods and passengers from the port of Valencia.

On the other hand, El Jaume III will make daily high-speed connections between Mallorca and Menorca.

Security measures

Baleària works so that its ships and the facilities it manages directly are as safe spaces as possible in front of the Covid-19. Thus, since May 11, it has carried out temperature measurements in all the ports where it operates and has incorporated ozone disinfection machines in some of its ships, in addition to reorganizing shipments and disembarkations to avoid crowds. It should be remembered that the use of a mask is mandatory on board, and that the shipping company provides hydro-alcoholic gel to passengers. With these measures, along with others that are being worked on, Baleària expects to be the first shipping company in the world in June to obtain the Global Safe Site Covid-19 label in its highest degree (Excellence) by the international certification and inspection entity.
