The Councilor for Urbanism of Xàbia, Pepa Gisbert, has taken stock of the activity in his department during 2022, an analysis that ranges from the activity linked to construction in the municipality to other aspects, such as the uses of the buildings.
On the issue of licenses, Gisbert has indicated that 240 applications for major works were received, a similar number equal to those before the pandemic (2019 were requested in 241, in 2020179 and in 2021 a total of 196).

Regarding works of a minor nature, a total of 936 have been processed. Of these, 667 have been managed through declarations of responsibility and the remaining 269 with license requests.
Another of the data reflected in this report is the urban infringement files (which mean the stoppage of the works when they do not comply with the permission granted and restoration of legality). In the last year, 105 files for infringement were initiated, which are in different stages of processing.
They have also managed 63 first occupation licenses for new homes and 659 second occupation licenses, a certificate that renews the certificate of habitability in existing homes and which is usually requested to register a water or electricity service or when the property is put up for sale or for rent.
Tourist rental
In terms of activities, area that manages Alberto Tur, a significant figure is the 581 requests for urban compatibility reports, a necessary document to legally give private homes a tourist use. 89 opening licenses have also been required for new premises or for change of business ownership and 96 compatibility reports for economic activities.
