ICU occupancy drops by 50% and discharges continue to rise

The number of patients in intensive care units for COVID-19 in the Valencian Community has decreased by 50% in the last week. As of today, there are only 34 people who require this care in the entire Community, 5 fewer than in the update this Thursday.

For its part, the number of people sick with coronavirus hospitalized has also experienced a decrease of 40% in the last week. There are currently 245 people admitted, 26 fewer than this Thursday.

Discharges to patients with coronavirus also continue to increase. There have been 186 more since the last update, bringing the total of people who have been cured in the Region to 10.709.

As for new positive cases, since the update this Thursday, 35 new cases have been detected through PCR, bringing the total number of positives to 11.021 since the pandemic began.

Of all the positive cases detected, 3.156 are currently active, representing only 20,6%. Since yesterday there have been 7 new deaths, which brings to 1.407 people who have died in the Valencian Community from coronavirus. Likewise, for the third consecutive day there are no deaths of residents due to coronavirus.
