At the end of 2019, the Jávea Autism Association received aid from CaixaBank, through its Obra Social “la Caixa”, to carry out the educational projects it works to improve the needs of children with autism of the Association.
Specifically, a grant of € 5.000 was granted, which was intended to finance the psychoeducational project 'XàbiaTEA' from October 2019 to March 2020, as well as another € 3.200 grant dedicated to financing the 'CreaTEA' project, which lasted from November 2019 to June 2020, although at this time it is paralyzed due to the state of alarm by the COVID-19.
XàbiaTEA
The XàbiaTEA psychoeducational project (Intervention Program in Social, Emotional and Communication skills in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder) was launched by the Jávea Autism Association to address the special educational needs of children with autism in the association. Last November (2019) the third edition of this program began, in which users of Autismo Jávea are offered the possibility of developing their potential and capabilities to the fullest, through specialized attention where they are provided understanding their school, family and social environment, so that it provides them with a significant improvement in their quality of life.
CreateTEA
The second grant provided by the bank (3.200 euros) has been destined, by the Association, to finance the CreaTEA project (Educational innovation program for the development of creativity in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder through technology and science).
In this program, it is intended to convert those specific characteristics and / or characteristics of people with ASD into great learning abilities. Keeping in mind visual thinking, attention and passion for details, as well as restricted interests, becoming the most powerful work tool, and in turn, its strengths throughout the teaching-learning process.
