The cyclist from Xábia, Antonio Molina, was one of the protagonists of the first stage of the Colorado Classic. Molina, the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA runner, got into the flight of the day along with four more runners getting the first one under the banner of the prize of the mountain in the two ports of the fourth category. This allowed him to add as many points as possible and shirt of the mountain prize.
This first stage of 150 kilometers was dantesca because of the great gust of water that fell to the cyclists in the end part of the same. A race that developed on a circuit that had to do six laps, in a continuous up and down that caused it to roll very fast.

After the first stage of the Colorado Classic, The overall standings lead, John Murphy with a time of 3: 33.20, followed by Travis McCabe to 4 seconds. Third place is for Logan Owen, 6 seconds. The bonuses make Antonio Molina fourth to 8 seconds of the leader of the test.
