Last Saturday, the PSPV-PSOE municipal group of Jávea held a discussion-colloquium at the Parador Nacional de Turismo in which the former Minister of Education, Ángel Gabilondo, together with José Vicente Cabezuelo, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Teaching Staff at the University of Alicante, and Miguel Soler, Deputy Secretary General for Education and Social Integration of the PSPV-PSOE, spoke and presented their ideas on "The education we need".
In front of a room full of people who did not want to miss the presentations of the guests, the former minister assured that "education is the best way out of the crisis«. Gabilondo said that he was in favour of a state pact based on consensus and solidarity with the aim of establishing a training framework in education so that it can be in force for an entire generation.
Regarding the new education law, the former minister did not want to make value judgments or express an opinion and assured that he only understands an educational project agreed upon by the educational community, social agents and parties. Ángel Gabilondo also added that he was Minister out of institutional respect and not because he valued parties or politicians, and added that "citizens have intelligence and know that consensus is the only way to define the educational model«.
