Students of the IES Antoni Llidó travel to Austria to learn about sustainable actions within the Erasmus + project

25 October 2021 - 15: 15

Last week 10 students from the IES Antoni Llidó visited the Tyrolean town of Landeck within the framework of the Erasmus + project 'Little green steps, big global changes', which intends to undertake small actions that contribute to caring for the planet.

The Xàbia participants lived with Austrian families and had the opportunity to visit the BRG / BORG Landeck institute, which surprised the students and accompanying teachers with its well-cared and spacious facilities, its rest areas and its themed classrooms with impressive views of the mountains of the Paznaun valley.

The group of students enjoyed an intense week between October 13 and 20, with a program full of activities such as a visit to the municipal recycling plant, a night excursion through the Zams hydroelectric plant, which is publicly owned and operated. as well as the rest of the small hydroelectric plants of the Austrian Tyrol.

Water is the engine of life and the economy of the mountains, since it allows the production of energy and artificial snow to supply the multiple ski resorts in the region. They also rode around the city of Innsbruck on an old tram driven by the Erasmus + coordinator in Austria, Professor Werner Duscheck, and enjoyed some great Tyrolean cuisine. All activities aimed at making young people aware of the importance of caring for our planet.

An unforgettable week for all and all participants, between hospitable and simple people, but also a new bridge between cultures from two different regions with the common goal of tourism sustainability.
