Álex Ortega of the Jávea Nautical Club was silver medalist in the 'Spanish Championship' Sub 15 windsurfing

The best national sailors met this past week in the Spanish Windsurf Championship disputed this past week in the Galego Center of Vela Vilagarcía de Arousa.

In this national event, the xabiero regatta, Álex Ortega, was a silver medal in the Sub 15 category, in which the dominator was the Menorcan, Billy Coll, of the Fornells Yacht Club. This sailor was intractable since he won in six of the seven tests, and was third in the other remaining of the championship.

Ortega maintained a great regularity and this allowed him to climb to the second podium, which was completed by Bernat Tomás, from Club Nautico Arenal. The best female in Techno 293 Sub 15 was Natalia Blanquet, from the Spanish Windsurfing Club of French Valencia, who also finished in the ninth position in the general standings.

In the Sub 13 category, the champion of Spain was Azul Sánchez, of the Real Club Melilla. The second place went to Arancha Sahuquillo, from the Club Náutico Sevilla, the third place went to Nicolás Madero, from the Antonio de la Playa Maritime Center.

The Andalusian, Aurelio Terry (CN Sevilla), did not get off the podium in any of the disputed races and ended up winning the Sub 17 championship with a set of four first, two seconds and a third. In the second and third places, the Balearics drew level with Josep Estrany (CN Arenal), second and Antoni Coll (CN Fornells), third. The best sailor in the female category was Naiara Fernández de Boadilla (CN Arenal), fifth overall.
