Ainhoa Buigues, who exactly a decade ago held the title of Children's Queen of Les Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia, is preparing to experience one of the most special moments of her life: becoming the Senior Queen of the 2025 festivities. A journey filled with emotions, memories, and great excitement.
Since she was elected queen last September, Ainhoa hasn't had a single moment of rest. "Between her high school studies, preparing for the EBAU (Spanish University of Buenos Aires), and the festive events, her life has been full of activity: "There hasn't been a single moment to stop, but that's precisely what has made these months magical. comboi that we have had every week.
Now, with her EBAU (Bachelor's Degree in Medicine) completed, and with the clear goal of studying Medicine, a vocation she feels stronger than ever, Ainhoa can fully focus on her Fogueres festivities with the excitement and heart prepared to live every moment intensely. And although tonight she will officially be proclaimed queen of the festivities, Ainhoa eagerly awaits "the doors of the balcony of the Town Hall and seeing all of my family down there. That will be one of the most emotional moments," although she mentions that she's looking forward to experiencing the parades surrounded by her family, her friends, and her family.
And as everything that begins must end, the queen of Les Fogueres de Sant Joan this year recalls the moment of the Cremà, when the monuments are consumed by flames and emotion: "I remember the Cremà from when I was the Child Queen; I was in the arms of the eldest queen, Lucía, and seeing her in tears was a mixture of feelings: sadness and gratitude for having experienced something so beautiful."
Indelible memories, special details, and new dreams
Ainhoa holds special cherished memories of spending time with the officers and senior officers of 2015. "It was a bond that has endured over the years, and I hope it continues now. We became a very special group, and we still meet for dinner. I hope this will also happen this year; I'd like to continue maintaining that special relationship that's been created."
Among the many details that will make her reign unforgettable, one particularly poignant one stands out: one of the outfits she will wear at the festivities. "I made a complete outfit and a bodice, but I'll also be wearing my aunt Mari Carmen's outfit. It's the same one she wore 26 years ago. I tried it on by chance last year and asked her permission to let me have it when I became Queen." It's undoubtedly a symbolic way of uniting past and present and family tradition in this significant year.

Nervous about the start of the festivities, Ainhoa dedicates a few words to her colleagues from Quintà 'La Desmadrà' and the entire town of Xàbia: "May everyone take advantage of every moment and every event.
