The festival of photography of author Ojos Rojos has lived its third weekend with an intense agenda. The day on Saturday brought together several activities, one of the novelties of this year being held in Xàbia: the viewing portfolios.

Photography amateurs from different parts of Spain such as the Basque Country, Seville, Madrid, Alicante or Galicia attended this event to present their work and projects to professionals such as Eduardo D'acosta, Marisa Giménez Soler, Lucía Morate, Mike Steel, Mili Sánchez or Lluis Romero Quiles.

Among all the works, one was selected that will participate in the next edition of the festival and that will be announced shortly.

Intervened photography

Also on Saturday the presentation was given 'What defines a good photograph?'by the Sevillian professor and photographer, Eduardo D'Acosta. In it, photography was discussed Intervened in a round table formed by Marisa Giménez, Eduardo D'Acosta, Alejandro Cartagena from Mexico, Mili Sánchez as moderator and the collagist, Nina Llorens whose exhibition 'Library of Souls' it was the starting point.

Festival agenda

The festival continues to mark the cultural agenda of these weeks and has pending appointments as interesting as the premiere screening of the documentary "El Instante Eterno", on Sunday, October 10, at 17:30 p.m. at the Jayan Cinema, directed by the Chilean Sebastian Moreno. A film that follows the unpublished footsteps of one of the most important artists in the history of Chile: Sergio Larraín. The best Chilean photographer, and one of the best in the world, who successfully passed through the most important agencies in the world such as Magnum.

With the help of this documentary, we can discover his passionate biography, the secrets of his iconic photos and get closer to a fundamental artist revered in specialized circles, but unknown in the key parts of his life. And it is that, the artist was gradually abandoning photography and deepening in the study of oriental culture and mysticism, seeking tranquility and isolation to dedicate himself completely to painting, meditating, teaching yoga and writing. As an added incentive, in this documentary Josef Koudelka, another huge and elusive photographer, is interviewed.

Also on the weekend there will be a photographic market on Calle Marqués de Campo between 10 am and 14 pm on Saturday, October 9.
