Last week in the town of Santo Domingo de Silos, province of Burgos, the UCI S2 category test called Sad Hill, formed by four MTB stages and where it was competed in pairs.
The Moll brothers, Ade and Saoro moved there with the aim of obtaining valuable ICU points and making a good general.
Thus, on Thursday afternoon, the first stage began with a time scale, with a goal and departure in the municipality of Huerta del Rey, of 37km and + 700m. Ade and Saoro flew during the tour and managed to stop the clock in 1 hour 28 minutes, taking the victory and the lead.
The second stage consisted of 63km and + 1350m of unevenness, which passed through the Mirandilla Valley, where the famous cobbled cemetery of “Sad Hill” is characteristic of the film El Bueno, El Feo and El Malo. The Moll brothers were able to control the race until kilometer 40 where the forces declined and the rivals took the opportunity to attack. After demonstrating pundonor they were eighth in goal.
On Saturday the queen stage would be played with 86km and + 2100m of unevenness that ran around the Arlanza river, full of trails. Ade and Saoro made a solid race facing the cold and the rain that appeared at the end of the day, finishing in fourth position.
The last stage of 68km and + 1450m called Cervera for its mythical ascent to these antennas with a steep and stony slope, marked a race in which it was shot in a group until the final kilometers where the differences were created. Ade and Saoro would be third to sprint.
After the four days of comxicotetion, Ade and Moll Saor they finished fourth of the general meeting the proposed objective. During the next weeks the team will prepare the second part of the season focused on the MTB Marathon modality.
