The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has published in the 'Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana' the call for scholarships for school canteens in schools supported with public funds for the 2020-2021 school year. The deadline for submitting applications will be from July 6 to 29.
Education will allocate a total of 73.425.000 euros for these grants, which represents an increase of almost 1 million euros compared to the previous year. These grants allow to cover during the academic year 2020-2021 all or part of the cost of the school canteen service for students enrolled in schools supported by public funds.
In recent years, the budget for dining room scholarships has increased progressively since the 2015-2016 academic year, in which the budget was set at 52 million euros. Since the 2018-2019 academic year, the 70 million euros allocated for these scholarships have been exceeded in all the calls.
Processing of the dining room scholarship
For the second year, families who have access to the 'Web Family', and who already requested the dining room scholarships last year, will be able to access this computer application to view and download their draft aid application, in which they will be pre-recorded. the data in the possession of this administration. If the families agree with the information provided, they will have to print, sign and present the draft at the center where they will be enrolled during the 2020-2021 academic year, without the need to present the documentation.
However, families who are not users of the 'Web Family', who received the scholarship the previous year and who maintain the same conditions will only have to confirm a draft application with the data in the possession of the Administration, and that They will have to request it from the center where their sons and daughters are schooled.
Thus, only the draft application will have to be confirmed.
Students who did not apply for the scholarship last year will have to submit both the application and the supporting documentation required to the center where they will be enrolled, from the day after the publication of the call and until the end of the enrollment period if it continues. in the same center, or during the enrollment period in the event that the school changes.
The resolution establishes the maximum income threshold to be able to apply for the aid, which for a family of four is established at 38.831 euros per year, taking into account the 2019 income. Likewise, the applicable scale is established based on family income Available per capita per year, ranging from 20 points for a per capita income of a maximum of 393 euros to 1 point for a per capita income of more than 7.467 euros.
The special socio-family circumstances of the students will also be valued. Regarding the amount of aid, the beneficiary students will receive up to 4,25 euros per day in the event that they attend Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and ESO; up to 5,44 euros, in the case of special education students, and up to 12,25 euros, for those who are enrolled in home schools.
Direct beneficiaries
The direct beneficiary of the aid will be considered and, therefore, the maximum amount will be received by the students of the Valencian inclusion income, as well as the students of the second cycle of Early Childhood Education and that of Primary Education or Compulsory Secondary Education who have been compulsory schooling in a center in a municipality other than your residence because there is no educational offer.
Also it will be the students schooled in specific centers of Special Education or in specific classrooms of Special Education in ordinary centers of ownership of the Generalitat, arranged private or of public ownership different from the Generalitat, as well as those who are in a family reception situation or residential, in the same way as the sons or daughters of foster families, the sons or daughters of victims of gender violence and victims of terrorism.
