The Association Port Xàbia and the City Council have presented the eighth route of seafood tapas that will be held this weekend, on 11, 12 and 13 in October. The president of the Association, Cande Ros, has indicated that the dates are the most appropriate for this event and «A total of 22 bars will participate, which will prepare a cover with a marine touch and that in each edition is more elaborate and in addition, the cocktail bars join the gastronomic complement offering drinks and cocktails at a better price».
Ros has said that each dish will be made with products from the fish market and «The novelty of this year is that the Contest returns to the best cover. The prize consists of a rough sculpture with a marine symbol made by Fernando El Tosquero ».
The jury will be formed by Pepe Vidal (CDT), Quique García (Xàbia Histórico) and José Manuel Piña (ARX). From the association they point out that with this award they wanted to give the route more boom «With more prepared tapas, which will have a price of 2 euros and in which the 20% of the collection will be for the Xàbia Port Association».

The councilwoman of Duanes de la Mar, Marta Bañuls, has indicated that they continue working to seasonally adjust tourism with gastronomic offers out of season, «Every year, the event is a success with the complement of street entertainment and live music, flea market and children's activities», recognizes the mayor.
El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, has congratulated the merchants of the port for maintaining an event of this nature «And get a total of 28 restaurants to participate, it is a success. The format is positive, it is encouraged to visit the premises, in addition, the dates are very good since in some autonomous communities it is festive and facilitates people to come. Also the good weather we have accompanies. It is an event that values the local product of our sea and that of the sailors with a port with a fishing essence », Chulvi highlighted.
The opening ceremony will be Friday at 20: 30 hours at the Bodega Puerto, although you can taste the tapas from 12: 30 hours. The route will have both noon and afternoon hours. Specifically, on Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 in October, the tapas will be offered from 12: 30 to 15 hours and from 19: 30 to 23 hours and on Sunday 13 will only be served at lunchtime, from 12: 30 to 15 hours.
