About 160 people participated in the day 100 Solidarity Shovels organized by the Club Náutico Jávea with the sponsorship of SUMA Tax Management and the Rowing Federation of the Community and the collaboration of the
Commission of Festes Mare de Déu de Loreto. the Cancer Care Jávea association and the local company Pons Químicas (Asevi).
The day had two different parts, a first in which the attendees were able to get closer and enjoy the sport of rowing, and a second in which the 100 Paddles challenge took place between the teams of the Jávea Yacht Club, Rem Club Marina de Denia, Rowing Club of the Benidorm Yacht Club, Real Club Náutico de Alicante and Puerto de Alicante Sports Club.
Touchdown with the oar
From the hand of the monitors of the Rowing section of the Jávea Yacht Club, about 60 people were able to practice rowing through the bay of Xàbia. "These actions are very important because it allows us to bring rowing closer to all the residents of Xàbia", stressed the coordinator of the Rowing Section of the Jávea Yacht Club, Valentina 'Tenin García. "Many of them-she highlighted her-then they sign up for the groups that we have and that go out rowing every week."
Brave and Equal Challenge
The second part of the day was the Brave and Equal challenge, 100 rowers from the clubs faced each other, with a sporting rivalry. "We all enjoyed magnificent rowing conditions, and the day was spectacular," acknowledged the coordinator.
As part of the event, which was also included in the Sports Day program of the Mare de Déu de Loreto festivities, some t-shirts were put up for sale, the proceeds of which will be donated to Incliva in order to continue with the lines of investigation to find a cure for breast cancer. The Jávea Yacht Club will announce the amount raised in the coming days.
There was a small awards ceremony for all the participants, which was attended by a representative of the Valencian Rowing Federation, as well as the member of Social and Cultural Events, Pilar de la Cuadra, and the Councilor for Sports of the Javea Town Hall, Alberto Tur.
