Traditions

Jávea-Xŕbia is one of the most popular towns on the Costa Blanca. Its rich history has undoubtedly contributed to the many customs inherited from ancient cultures. The 1960’s had a decisive effect on the local inhabitants, as the society went from being mainly agricultural (based on agriculture and fishing) to a very different structure due to the demands of tourism, a process which had a great influence both on the landscape and on the natural surroundings. Among these popular traditions we can highlight:

Bulls in the Street
Els Colombaires
La Pelota Valenciana
La Subasta
La Pasa
Los Rederos
Market
